Turmeric Gold!! That's a shocker of a pun.

Great mono shot though - is there a colour  version too?

Yes Chris, there is a colour version. You may need to turn down the brightness on your monitor!

Now take a look at what is next to it.

They don't exactly complement each other, do they?

Spon End in Coventry, is where my late mum's family originated, they were Watch Face Painters, during the 19th Century.......during the 1960s/1970s, Spon Street was declared a Conservation area, most of the beautiful Medieval half timbered buildings were restored, moved, rebuilt and then let to, Art Galleries, high class Craft people, and hair dressers.....

Since then that beautiful area that survived the devastating nazi Blitz of 1940 has been allowed to deteriorate, the Art galleries, etc have mostly gone, and then this kind of thing allowed to happen.

Only three weeks ago, my good lady and I visited Coventry, for the first time since my photographic run in with City Centre security guards........we discovered that all the bus stops have been moved, streets narrowed and a huge development taking place, that us about to make the city even more unwelcoming......so sad because it isthe home City of half of my ancestors.

England, thus England!

A symphony of blue and red! Actually, I rather like the colour version as although it's bright, there's only two colours. That half-timbered antiquity is impressive.

It doesn't really fit in, does it?

I live in Coventry, but haven't walked up Soon Street for a while so haven't seen the buildings recently.

It would look much more in keeping with the street if it was in black and white.

Spon Street is one bit of Coventry that I love because of it's origionality. I hope they re-think the colour.
