Speckled Wood

Despite the chilly, and at times fairly strong, breeze this morning, I was able to catch a picture of this flightly little speckled wood butterfly.

 

The first of this species I have seen this year and given the good condition of the wings, quite possibly one of the spring brood which often makes an appearance in mid to late april.

 

I'm not happy with the left wing being a bit blurred but I'm sure I'll get better as the season goes on

They are out and about round our way but they are very timid and dont like a lens shoved too near them

Nice capture Bugs... I saw a few at the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust at Llanelli last Monday, they were not settling though so no photos.
