MARKET DAY MAN

Recommended Posts

I treated myself to a SIGMA 1:2.8-60mm Lens for my GX7  last week, because they were on special offer.

I had done a little research prior to acquiring it so knew it was a good for Portraits:

I gave it a test last Thursday and all that was said in the reviews seem to be true; it s very sharp and renders colour very well, this was my first portrait of a characater  I haveposted a portrait of previously.

He nearly always visits town on Market Day and since taking his first portrait about three years ago we speak regularly; he has many stories to tell, I hope to see him later today to give him prints:

Best viewed LARGE...........Click on Pic:

Does anyone else have experience of this lens or one of a similar spec?.....it has to be used differently for Street Photography:

That's really good.

Did you do any editing on this one Fuji.

Not editing Nanny.........a slight crop yes, plus my usual layers and soft brushes post RAW processing, to bring out the best.

That's amazing Tina - I never saw your lips move!

What happened there? Lol.

I'm using the mobile version on my tablet as it's easier at the moment, so I can't use the smilies either.

I'm not sure Tina - either you put words into Fuji's mouth, or he replied to you, but somehow managed to hijack your avatar to make it look like you posted!

That has happened before when my reply has ended up in the quote. I don't know why.

Oh, that one's much easier to explain - it's when you inadvertently start typing within the quote box, not noticing it's below the bottom of the Reply box.

It's how Fuji managed to reply using your avatar that's the real mystery.

Blame in the fact that I am seeing different things with each eye currently........my right eye is A1 perfect......my poor left eye sees things magnified but blurry with everything tilted down to the right by 20 degrees.

It a wonder I'm not walking in circles;-) ......glad I don't drive any more.

I will have an hour long test, with an Optometrist, to determine if the imbalance can be rectified with, an on-specs prism, it's a test that must be done before a decision is made for that serious Retinal Surgery.

I probably typed in the wrong box......or.......is it due to my honoury position as Moderator, that allows me ( unwittingly) to add my reply to posts.

Perhaps a cleverer Mod than me could investigate, then advise?

Anyways, back to the Portrait.......Many thanks all for your kind comments.

My new camera, with its Electronic Viewfinder, is just what I needed for One-Eyed Photography.

Apologies Nanny!
