POTW 24/5/15

Not the technically best picture I feel (though as it is a scan of an original, it's hard to judge). However, as a portrait it grabbed my immediate attention this week more than any other image did, so that's all the criteria necessary... It's been well isolated from the background, without the usual 'bleaching out' effect that flash so often gives. I also like the paradox of such an outrageous look (!) combined with a  faraway reflective look in her eyes; it perfectly illustrates that expression "a thousand yard stare". All in all, it's a thoroughly memorable portrait.
