Both nice shots Chrissy!  There is only one of the seven Canary Islands I haven't been to and that's El Hierro, my favourite island is La Palma... been there six times. Great islands to visit in the winter... usually warm and only just over 4 hours flying time.

We visit Tenerife 3 or 4 times a year. The flying time varies between 4 and 4:30 depending on tail winds. And the warmth all year round really does it for me. I have been to Tenerife, Fuertaventura, Lanzarote and Gran Canaria. The smaller islands haven't yet tempted me. There were underground volcanic rumblings off El Hierro about 3 years ago when we were on Tenerife. We were ready to scarper!

There has been talk for years about a possible mega tsunami when a huge chunk of La Palma slips into the sea, in 1949 an eruption caused a 2.5 km long rift to open, with a width of about 1 m (3 ft 3 in) and a depth of about 2 m. I've walked on part of the rift and I'm still here...
