10 stop

Hi Pdspic - I keep looking at purchasing a 10 stop, just not sure I would use it that much and can't make my mind up to buy some extension tubes instead, but I do like the picture on the left.

I got my filter from srb photographic for about £20 extension tubes cost about £35 so why not get both?

OOOOOH!

Milky Water! ;-)

Strange as it may seem to some......I actually like these because using the filter on the sea makes it appear as a low mist, adding atmosphere and mystery where none existed previously.

The Milky Water that bugs me is when waterfalls and fast running streams are made to look totally unnatural ......a little speed blur yes......but not solid dairy products ;-)

...I'm trying to figure a rational argument against that, I not too sure about the cheaper extension tubes (although the filter sound good)

the tubes are quite good,..look for kenko or vivitar,

or these ones, with metal mounts. still cheap

there is no glas inside, I think the mount is the most important . If you really want to spend more just get the lens instead. but I think this with the filter is a great buy

Over the last 4 weeks I have been looking at both ebay and Amazon for Kenko tubes simply because they are metal not plastic - they usually end up in the £80+ range. I blame you entirely for me now purchasing a set of the Mcoplus tubes  :yes Although in fairness the reviews are all good - I'll let you know how I get on and I'll now consider buying the 10 stop. Thanks for the heads up

I'm still amazed at that low mist on such an otherwise clear day - I'm assuming it hasn't been Photoshopped!

the shot was taken In the water between the rocks,.. as the tide and waves were coming in I did a 30 second exposure with a 10 stop filter.

So the movement of the water give that misty effect

So I disappoint you,.. it is not mist :)

Chris! Chris!

I wanted to tell you, but waited until the OP did......

It is the ( to me only ;-) the dreaded ......Milky Water.....

Thing is, I really like these.......tis only waterfalls that get ruined by long exposures.

I like it because it looks like mist. Milky water (unless it's genuine motion blur ... which I notice your B&H expert didn't tackle  ) doesn't do anything for me.
