While dropping the missus and Thomas at a party and driving along the coast I spotted this lot.

Its about 9°c and slinging it down with rain....so....I dashed home, bunged the 70-300mm on the Nikon and went back for a play.

I got soaked (not as much as them I'll agree) the camera was drenched (don't care its a pro camera and thats why I bought it) and the conditions were vile.

Shot on aperture priority with the auto ISO running to keep the speeds up.

Bit grainy but a bit of fun:

Nice work BP, potential for some stunning action shots if the light turns in your favour.  And if you know the guy who runs the local club there is a chance you could get some of them to do close runs with a few tricks thrown in to show off their skills. Looking forward to your next set of shots with these guys!!

Those two were playing up to the camera which is why I went and said hello - can't wait for rough sea's and a bit of sunshine.

I will say that although I love my Pentax K30 for its sensor and tiny size the D300s still rocks! The AF is amazing with only a handful from 500 that missed focus, the speed is perfect for this situation and I never hit the buffer even shooting RAW files.

The old girl still knows how to party.
