Tuesday, I've just found out, is a supermoon (pink) but here's one from tonight... (This is a friends lens he is lending me while we  look for birds tomorrow with the family, and while he's away for 10 days. He was a member of the old and long gone Canon Fodder Forum)...

That 's a very decent image Paul ... you've got some very good friends too  ...  what  did you get on  loan ?

It's the Sigma 150-500.

Years ago I was admin on CFF, a forum for just Canon users which for a few years was very popular. But for whatever reason it eventually fell by the wayside.

A good member there (Bob S) kept in touch from time to time, and still finds me on Facebook and elsewhere. He is away for a few days and when he found out I was going to the nearby reserve on Monday and needed a lens, he kindly offered the use of his while he was away.

I'm fortunate that Geoff still allows me to use his Venus lens, and along with others, it goes to show how good a community can be, where others willingly help people that apart from the internet, may not really know each other (in person).

With furlough depleting our income the prospect of buying even used hardware is a million miles away, and I am fortunate for the help of others, that I can only repay with words of thanks.

It's  great that  the sense of community is fostered  through forums like this Paul ... we may not be a very big forum  but  it feels real on TIPF ...  I  love the fact that  people are usually kind and thoughtful  and respectful  of other people's views  and feelings on here ... Seeing your  fabulous macro pics especially Paul is  reward enough I suspect from your lens loaners and I am certainly  glad  we still have to opportunity  to see your work on here .  It's been a tough old year that's for sure ... reaching for or extending  a helping hand has  become a cornerstone  of our communities during  this Pandemic and that at least  is one  of the more positive side effects  of  this awful virus ...
