Never seen one this side of the country John, we seem to get just three or four types...unless I'm not really looking!

Denis... out of the 59 species of butterflies found in the British Isles I have managed to see and photograph 30 species and I've not travelled more than 40 miles from home. There are many species in central and eastern Britain I've never seen, buy yourself a good butterfly guide that shows you where all the different species can be found. A good guide is the 'Pocket Guide to the Butterflies of Great Britain & Ireland' by Richard Lewington.

A lady member of another forum I use took 12 years to photograph every species, she travels the country in a small camper van. Two years ago she got the last two, one on the Isle of Wight and a couple of weeks later the last one in Scotland... I take my hat off to her!
