Classic early British lines there Geoff !

In the age of Modern vehicles we see wider and wider wheels and tyres fitted, but did you know the narrower the tyre the better  it is for crossing rough ground and poor road surfaces?

Look at the French Farmers favourite the 2CV, none of them owned 4X4 vehicles years ago, the narrow tyres of a 2CV cut through deep mud to the firmer stuff underneath, early Land Rovers also used narrow fit tyres !

I didn't but it makes sense because there is less tyre surface touching the road.
