The water tower.

Not a great looking structure by any means. It is not in a particulary stunning location either, but the tower is visible from absolute miles away, I used to look at this just about visible on the horizon when I was a kid in the small market town of Ware in the very early 1960's always wondering where it was.

It is visible from the M25 between J26 and the Bell common tunnel., you can see it from High Ongar on the way to Chelmsford and from the M11 travelling south at Stansted if you know where to look.

Its just a water tower, but it sits on the highest ground no more than a mile across the fields behind my house, just a local landmark.
