That  is a very  nice looking  piece  of Stonework Rye   The Church own such a lot of property  don't they ... Is it open again yet or are these  from your archives... Looks a great place  to visit ...   it's a set that  encourages one to go and see it for oneself  too.

Thanks Clicker, these were taken on Wednesday, the actual Abbey ruins you can see are in image 3. I come here a lot as it's only 6 miles away, so I've photographed it a lot of times: images 1 and 4 are of the gateway, images 2 and 3 are of the conference centre

Good set Rye, 3 being my particular pick.

Thanks Denis, a fairly local place (6 miles) so I've been here with my film camera and digital camera on numerous occasions but you need to get here when the light is right and you've got the right amount of clouds....

One of the first mistakes I made was only going out when there were totally blue skies.....
