The TIPF Album

It's amazing Chris Rea is still with us considering all his health problems which icludes pancreatic cancer in 1994.

Wasn't Chris Rea going to join Dire Straits at one point? But it fell through : "Chris Straits" just didn't have a ring to it, and they weren't going to use the other option... :D

Amazing to think Sparks are still around, still creating new albums, still touring...

"This Town Ain't Big Enough.." was a whole year or more before Bohemian Rhapsody, but is never mentioned in the same breath. It should be!

Here's one from the archives :

Thank you for that Korky.......

Me and my mates ( or should it be .....my friends and ?) .......used to absolutely rave about this 1930s made, series of Flash Gordon, with Emperor Ming, and Planet Mongo......oh yes!.......and rocket ships that sounded exactly like electric razors, and which had exhaust sparks and smoke that fell straight down as they flew......on wires .....( obvious now) .......

Loved every minute of it.....on the way home from Saturday a Morning a Pictures, we kids used to re- enact whatever we had seen on the screen, from Flash Gordon, Tom Mix, Hopalong Cassidy, Roy Rodgers, Tarzan, Our Gang, The Three Stooges, Laurel and Hardy plus all the favourite cartons........not forgetting those rather boring American Travelogues.

Fairly recently my childhood mate and fellow cinema goer, found a DVD of all of the Flash Gordon serial episodes, we spent the next few Wednesday afternoons, complete with popcorn and cardboard cartons of fizzy pop watching them all over again.....GREAT STUFF,

Thanks again.

Very New-age BP.......

I can just imagine you sitting in your armchair wearing your flares, and Flower-Power pirate shirt.......headphones on, nodding in time to that repetitive rhythm ......

Do you read Runes? .........Ponder Pendulums?........or .......... create Crystal Readings?

I can smell the incense from here ;-)

Cool Maaaaan!

Man you should hear the whole album - I grew up in the 70's so have a bit of hippy and a bit of a hankering for the old flares in me but this is more my era.

I love ambient music, I love electronica and I love krautrock so stuff like Orb, Orbital, CBL and Kraftwerk just rock my world.
