I really like both of these images ...especially the light on the sails on #1 ... however ... in  my opinion ... the  colour of the  framing mount  detracts from the images  for me ....sorry John .. I''d be inclined to use  a white that is say in the lightest part of the sails  to throw the image forward ..   But it  is just my opinion ... probably  because on my monitors  the grey in the framing   is a different  to the greys in the image and  the former  tends to make the latter look  dirty..  Of  course it could well be  just my monitors ....and i'm talking a lot of twaddle ....

It's a difficult call Polly.   Sometimes a white border overpowers the image.  I suspect that the answer in this case would have been not to have a border at all.  The dirty border is just carelessness.  What I have done without thinking is to apply the sepia filter to the image after I had created the border.

Ah... I suppose if it had been applied to the whole lot ...it might have have been a better fit , colourwise . I never had the kit lens with either my X-T2 or X-T3 camera as they were extra on the silver version.... I'm still dithering over  whether I can get a lot out of a macro lens ....
