I really struggle to catch a Jay  on a branch  or in fact anywhere other than hanging on to a fat ball feeder !! One of these days .....I'm going to have to use a trick to get him on a branch  or a post  with some holes drilled in to fill with seeds....I may just have to use it as a form of manipulation  other than Photoshop !

 Thanks John ... they do seem to be very nervous so near to the house, a bit like the spotted woodpeckers.... Getting a really out of focus background that throws the image forward will nee some strategic placing of a suitable perch though as foliage is always going to be distracting .. There's a lot more effort and planning  required it seems to get a bird study than composing a memorable landscape ... at least for me there is ... methinks  I need a lot more practise John .... :yes
