Amwell Lake

Oh that's just lovely Denis .... really nice understated treatment too ... and a fab sky . Glad you included something in the foreground too,  to anchor the size and perspective ... it looks a tranquil and peaceful place to let your mind and thoughts wander.

You do seem to live in an interesting part of the world Denis.  Nice shot.

I  take a 12 minute drive to get here John. the meadows this lake now occupies was my childhood playground but gave way to extensive gravel and sand pits in the late 1960s and 1970's. They now form most of the lakes in the Lea valley from the lovely old market town of Ware, Hertfordshire , my hometown. these pits ran down river as far as Waltham Cross Hertfordshire. Now  extensive nature reserves for most of its length.

The town I live in (spit) is a modern concrete jungle, built after the war to house people from London, it used to be nice here but has become tired and rundown. I come here to escape the place!

I do indeed and many thanks for pointing it out to me, I think mine is the Canon 11-20mm version, it's still a bloody good lens though, great for architecture and landscapes.
