I've only caught this on camera a few times John ...it's a great looking engine and you have caught it's power with a sort of lean as it speeds around the bend ... One thing  though ... did you purposely  make the drive'#rs face appear covered in soot  or was that real?

Thanks Polly, thanks Bill.  I've often said that I'm not a train enthusiast per se, they just make good images.  Tornado is a bit of a favourite though.  It represent the enterprise of a small group of people who eventually made it happen.  We could do with more people like that, particularly now.

Yeah the colour looks really effective...and as you say Denis ... it makes a nice change from the usual mono which in some cases prevents us from appreciating some of the very distinctive livery that some of these vintage engines sport ...
