Old Bedford Truck

It is a Bedford O series, I think production ran from the 1940's through to the late 1950's. That particular livery is in use by the coampany and they seem to run at least one of every type of Bedford lorry ever made.

I cut my teeth in the road haulage industry driving a Bedford TK at eighteen years old... 10 ton gross on a car licence ! , I took my HGV on a Bedford KM articulated lorry at 21 years old. I like to think I have a soft spot for the marque :)

I wonder what the mileage is on that one.  It looks in good condition.

It has probably had a complete rebuild including the engine, which could either be a 6 cylinder petrol or a four cylinder Diesel. my old 1963 Bedford TK I first drove in 1973 had over 250000 on the clock, then it had a Tachograph fitted and was still on the road in 1982 still racking up the miles :)

Ditto Korks ... I’ve got the same registration  year  date too ... and up until my cataract op this morning, I’ve gotten through my annual MOT  every year without  replacing any working bits ... As I  said earlier.... they don’t make ‘em like they used to do they ??

You've done well........ Up to now I've had problems with my headlights and my winkers. There was a time when I only fired on three cylinders and once that was put right I couldn't get out of second gear. Right now it's the exhaust system that's spitting and farting like a drunken sailor, but I'm told a quick wazz with a silencer bandage should put things back in fettle.
