I was on the boat Denis and this was taken from the back end.   Got up early to see the the marker showing that we had crossed the Arctic Circle but when we got there it had fallen into the sea and disappeared.

That's a really well crafted image John .... tones, balance , composition and processing all  exhibit  the expertise that you apply to producing some very fine images  ... Hats of to you  for another memorable one ...

Looks like I missed this one as well - must be my age, I get confused from time to time.

Yes, it's all pretty much been said in the above comments. I really do love those curves on the water.

I've tried Jim's method of taking away the upper highlights and I'm not sure whether I agree or not.

Hello John,

It was a pleasure to start on this what was a task soon turned into a joy. I turned the sky upside down, balanced off the darkness on the left with some darkness in the upper right, and the light in the upper left with the larger area but not quite so bright on the right, giving almost an X shape to the piece. Then I saw the reflections in the tranquil water, amplified those as a foil to the disturbed water and the Troll driven raging clouds.

"Rage, rage against the dying of the light" and I would add, for it so beautiful.

Cheers - J
