Well done everyone ...

Cheryl... By doing the daily challenge  (OADED... One a day every day ) that a few of us did for two years running in 2016/17, I found that i started photographing things I hadn't even noticed before  so the alphabet challenge has  made you look a bit more at obscure stuff it seems as well ...

It's difficult to get the right balance on challenges ...wanting to make it a challenge but not making it  too difficult with themes that are not suited to everyone's surroundings .. I'd quite like to do an image that is from the same place every week eg  at the entrance to the supermarket  or a pub     or of the same thing every week changes or shows it's growth or development ...Like a time lapse almost .... it's getting the right subject that would be easy to replicate ... I thought  maybe something that was being built locally   possible  or that changed dramatically with the  seasons or weather ... or from your usual place sat in a cafe every week ...  A bit like Phil did with his petrol station...  I'm working on it anyway ...Any other suggestions for a weekly challenge  ?

I like your idea of a weekly challenge with limits on the topic, Polly, perhaps the same place to note changes. Another idea is that we each choose a study of a particular subject and explore it over the year eg. environmental portraits, climate, culture. Gareth sort of did similar in the A-Z challenge by always photographing a business in his town ie shop, restaurant.
