The Meadow Pipit looks really good the way you've angled the dof  diagonally to add some more interest James ... i like that ... it almost looks like she's walking uphill .... 

The hovering Kestrel is  just lovely with the backlit wings and tail feathers too.

I'm wondering, James, if a little sunlight around the eye and cheek area might  just make the head a little easier to distinguish possibly  though it may be because am  looking on my laptop at a smaller screen than usual . I have fiddled with it just a tad  to see if it does work ... and to me  it does ... but  it's just a well meaning suggestion. .... :)

I doubt the average raptor can tell the difference between a photographer with a long lens and a feral gamekeeper with a gun -- so better safe than sorry.
