Colin... As the Canon and lens cost me over £1,000 in 2011 I would of thought it would have taken much better images than the Panasonic. To be honest I am really chuffed with the Panasonic which I got last December at a cost of £779 after £100 cash back. It's an amazing camera and I have ended up using it almost all the time, it's nice not having to hump a bag full of lenses around with me. I suppose the image taken with the Canon is very slightly better but not much, this is only the second time I have used the Canon this year and only then because I didn't have to do much walking on this trip as the car was always nearby.

Gareth... Until my Elan Valley day out I have only used the Panasonic for nature stuff mostly butterflies, I decided to take my Canon 60D as well and do some comparison shots and I am delighted with the shots I took with the Panasonic. As you said the colours are very slightly better, I have now raised the Panasonic's saturation slightly ready for my next trip out.
