With the temperature today it looks like our Spring switch has turned. Saw our first Bearded Dragon down near our gate as we headed out this morning, but he didn't quite look fully awake:

Nice to see him, we will have to watch out now, our 'regulars' will be on the move1

Thank you all.

This one posed for you by the look of it.

Cheryl I think he had only just come out of hibernation. He wriggled across our road very slowly, made his way into the sun on that log and just sat there with his eyes looking only half open.

What a fascinating creature!

What size is it?

We do like to see these Gareth, this one is about 12 inches in length, which is pretty normal.

Probably about twentyfour foot long Gareth, that's  a dead Giant Redwood its posing on !

Nothing scary in this one Denis, they freeze when you approach, and they love sunbathing!!

Nicely caught Kobione, it certainly puts our common lizards to shame.

Thanks Rye - this is quite common for us and I guess we will see him around more from now on - our temps. are heading for the low 20's

Just an extra bit of info for you - we are bordering on what is know as The Mallee, in the NW of the State of Victoria, and the Mallee has a greater diversity of lizards than any other part of the State - at least 48 known species. Not surprising that we see them then!
