So who built a model from the Airfix kit when they were young (ger) ? I know I did. And yes this is the real thing not a model 🙂

The Lizzie is one of my all time favourite aircraft Colin... and a great set you have shared of this quite unique flying machine :)

And yes I built many Airfix models, I particularly liked tank models and building small dioramas to display them on....

I used to make them and hang them from the ceiling.  My favourite was a Lancaster but I also made the Spitfire and the Hawker Hurricane. I think I made a Stuka as well but that might be my memory playing tricks.

As usual Colin, you have posted a quality set of aircraft images ... my interest in aeroplanes didn’t manifest itself till I was in my late twenties living in Suffolk near Lakenheath and Mildenhall ...and not having any brothers, airfix models  were completely alien to me when I was a child . Having two sons changed that ... 😉
