Roger... do you mean Rye Meads Nature Reserve in Hertfordshire? I live in Herefordshire... I must try somewhere nearer, I have a couple of places in mind.

And mine, I see Kingfishers on a regular basis and I have a Sigma 150-600mm, which on a cropped lens is almost 960mm, I need to be closer... The Kingfisher I see is female - you can tell as the bottom part of the beak is red/pinkish..... They can also hover, like a Kestrel, it's the first time I've seen one do that....

Never seen one in our area Geoff.  Whereabouts do you see them? (or is it a secret  )
