The Flying Scotsman

These are quite old and the engine still carries her original number.  Taken when the Scotsman was based at the Carnforth yard.  Health and Safety was still a twinkle in someone's eye and so you could wander in and out amongst the engines  at will.  Taken using a 6x9cm Ross Ensign Selfix folding camera loaded with Kodak Ektachrome, which I still have.  Mono because in those days, I only printed mono (for competitions).

Thanks all for the comments.

James, with a dedicated Epson scanner which will produce a mono file.  I might have used Photoshop CS6 for the conversion but I can't find the colour file and so it was probably done in the scanner.  The file was then downloaded to a CD in those days (2008) and commercially printed by a local print house. Not wet prints if that is what you have in mind.  The Epson will also convert negs into positives to allow digital prints to be made.

I was thinking that. I know that there is positive paper for B&W prints (Harman Direct Positive), and there used to be Cibachrome for making colour prints from slides.
