POTW - Week ending 4th August

This has to be the hardest choice I've had to make for POTW so far as there really has been a massive number of excellent images posted this week.
Monkey has given us some great aircraft to look at, JohnP has posted some superb butterflies and Ryewolf has shown us some excellent insect macros.
But I've finally narrowed it down to three and then managed to pick a winner:
Honourable mentions go to:
Mitch for Harvest Mouse, and
Monkey for Strikemaster.
But this week's winner is Korky's 2nd manipulation with Topaz Studio 2.  In my view, the best manipulated images are the ones that don't look as if they've been manipulated and this is a perfect example of that.

Excellent choice Gareth, it's been one  of the most difficult for a while.

It’s a corker of an image ... a superb photo . ...a worthy winner and would have been my choice too ...admittedly in a week where the competition was really strong .... this still has a real wow factor . A big slap on the back  lanky lad  !

Thanks, Gareth, this really has made my morning. Especially in a week when some really top notch images have been posted.

I spent Saturday night and Sunday morning taking explosive medication in preparation for a colonoscopy at hospital on Sunday afternoon. My weekend has been downright chuffin' miserable, but.........

This morning the sun is shining, I can eat and drink as normal and I have POTW - I think I might break into song.

another great choice and a big thumbs up to Korks, I do not envy any of the mods to make decisions regarding pic of the week.It would take me a month to view them all and make a judgement!

Anyone can volunteer to to go on the rota to pick the POTW Denis... As you say ... many just don't have the time to look at every photo especially if  they are working and I have to admit it takes time and  it's flipping hard  to choose as there are so many  quality images some weeks... So when you retire .......... I'll be looking out for you .... volunteering eh ....
