That's pretty up close and personal Rye ....lol 

There has been a lot of talk about a  lot of Painted ladies appearing this summer due to the perfect condition on route during their migration from Africa ...according to the Telegraph ..

There seems to be a lot about at the moment - apparently they were a sight to behold at Hartlepool the other day, absolutely hundreds of them.

I tried to get a shot while out and about the other day - failed miserably!

Well hello Stranger from Teesside ... ...... Last time I saw you here I think you had been to the Lake District last year   with your camera...   Good to see you back here Jon ...I hope  you've been out and about with your camera    ..it will be great  to see some  of your pics again ...:yes

Thanks Clicker, yes apparently once every decade produces the perfect conditions for millions of them to make the journey to the UK and back. It's not the same butterflies either and as many as 6 generations are needed to make the return trip. How on earth they know where to go is beyond me, it's not like they've done it before....
