Emperor Dragonfly in flight.

Taking shots of stationary insects is relatively easy, I am not exaggerating when I say over a number of years I have deleted several hundred shots off my camera at the time of taking because I was just not happy with the result. This is as near as I have got to a decent image of a Dragonfly in flight and I still crave for a better one... <sodemoji.1f600></sodemoji.1f600>

You are correct Craig!

I wasn't really out to take Dragonflies in flight, it was one of those instances I mentioned in another thread where the disadvantage of a DSLR camera is you cannot always have the correct lens fitted for all the subjects you are presented with. I was just out to take insects at rest using a 100mm macro lens, I am still amazed I managed this shot using a macro lens considering how many images I have deleted when using a more suitable lens. Since taking this image I have purchased a Panasonic DMC-FZ2000 camera, as the lens is not interchangable I always have the correct lens, this makes things much easier.
