What an outstanding  collection of images JohnP... The pearl bordered fritillary is stunning ( never seen one ) ...and obviously  one of the rarer butterflies .  You obviously study and know a lot about our butterflies and where their various habitats are and how they are being reduced all the time. It is a source of worry that the numbers of so many of our native species are declining so rapidly... It seems to me they  are a thermometer of the health of our planet and we lose them  at our peril ...

There are 28 species in the video so I have a long way to go to see and photograph all 59 British species, I think that will be impossibe now. I am a member of another forum and there is a lady on there that has got them all, she has a camper van and has travelled the length a breadth of the country over a 12 year period. She only got the last two this year, number 58 on the IOW and number 59 in Scotland. I take my hat off to her.

That is quite an achievement ..... and shows a great deal of dedication . You could always mention our forum next time you bump into her
