Those are some very nicely composed images that  do a very fine job promoting  the place David ...... It has had quite a chequered history hasn't it over the years ... It looks a lovely place with beautiful grounds ...

Nicely processed  pics...The third one just edges it for me  ... but it's  a close call with the second image...

Is it in Derbyshire or Leicestershire It ? ... looks very close to the border...

Thanks for this, Polly - very interesting. I now understand that It is in Leicestershire (just) but that doesn't seem to have stopped Derbyshire Life from adopting it. The aspect from the road looking down on the hall was described by Dr Johnson as "the most English of views". Anyone going there can see what he means.
