Looks like you've combined a poster filter with a blended watercolour  filter there John ... I 'd quite like to see it in colour...  They are  very regal looking birds aren't they ?... Quite an imperious  stare isn't it ...?

Thanks for the comments.

Conversion in PS Polly.  Separated the bird from the BG so that the gradient could be applied to BG.   Base layer was applying Topaz Simplify (probably "oil painting") with a graphic layer produced in PS on top.  Colour file from which the mono was made is below.  Deliberately mono for a club Black and White comp.

Thanks for the info John ... I just really wanted to see those golden eyes ..? The conversion works really well ...and I like what you've done with the background.....it really pushes the subject  to the foreground  ...almost a 3D effect ...
