Interesting set of images and some interesting hoverflies that I haven't seen before.

The first is a Sphaerophoria scripta - Long Hoverfly (male), the one in image 5 is Chrysotoxum bicinctum and a nice selection of butterflies Small Tortoiseshell, Comma and Female Meadow Brown.

That's a really typical summer walk collection Denis.. a very nice set ... I really like the meadow brown butterfly pic..Did you consider a square tighter  crop  on that one ... i tried one and rotated it a few degrees anticlockwise.. I love the colour palette too ..

Your last plant is Himalayan Balsam which is a non-native invasive plant, it can grow up to 2.5m tall and spreads it's seeds via explosive seed pods.

It is becoming a real problem along the banks of the Severn near me ...it's taking over to the detriment of other plants and clogging up waterways   and is now even growing on roadsides ....
