I dont know if this panarama shot (several cobbled together) works but this is what all the railway spotters came to see, feel and stroke

Its a little big for the site but it gives you an idea of what was causing the stir

Of the 35 made these are the remaining 6

Creations designed in the art deco years and inspired from the german diesel train the "flying hamburger"

A lot were named after birds The strangest to me was the Capercaillie it was renamed 42 as Charles H Newton then renamed again in 1943 as Sir Charles Newton
