Hi All

Just popped in to say Hi and I hope you are all enjoying the good weather, getting out there and taking a few snaps.

As normal I've been out shooting planes, but I will post some other stuff up another night just to show I can do 'other' pictures too :-)

Take care speak soon.

You know I'm a sucker for your aircraft pics ... this is another super set .....hellsbells Colin ...were you parachuting down, camera in hand,  past the Lancaster in  Shot #1 ?

Yer can practically  see what the Pilot had for his breakfast !;) Can I come and spend a day (Hmmm... month may be needed ) getting lessons  on how to get fabulous pics of aircraft in flight .....

So what lens did you use ?

Hi All many thanks for the kind comments

Polly - parachuting down might be fun if a little risky but no. I used a 600mm lens for all pictures except the Hurricane photo which was my 300mm lens.Best tip I can give you Polly is try learning 'back button focusing' which helps keep the aircraft in focus.

Two and three for me Colin but a (..nother) great set.

Polly, as Colin says, back button focusing is the way to go but on a Fuji X it's a bit of a fudge because there is no dedicated option.  You have to select manual focus and then set up one of the function buttons to override it.   I've set the one nearest my thumb below the exposure compensation dial to it and use it for birds etc.  Can't quite remember how I did it at the time but I Googled it and found it easily enough.  Using continuous focus is another option but it doesn't separate focus from exposure at half press.
