It's from the viewing point on the opposite side to the platform, it's quite low, but a longish shot with a crop gives you this perspective, both shots were taken from the same place

Must be just the perspective then.  #2 is clearly from the opposite side but #1 looks to be from further to the right.

Nope, both on the same side, although No2 is slightly further down the viewing point.
