Ludlow Castle

A fine old monument in a glorious part of the country

It Is a very nice town Ludlow..... and there is a lot of history around that Castle  which dates back to the early 11th Century, not long after the Battle of Hastings. Richard Duke  of York and his  son Richard  Duke of Gloucester ( later King Richard III) have strong links with the castle ...and  the latter famously,  has links to  the Princes in the Tower.. There is a lovely stained glass window  depicting The Duke of York and  Edward IV in the Church of St Lawrence in the centre of Ludlow   that you may have visited David ... Ironic  that Richard III  lived here for a while   but eventually was found buried under a carpark nearer to your neck of the woods David ...  

A nice set  to show off the castle  and the surrounding  countryside ...

And of course, Bosworth Battlefield is only 6 miles from where I live (although there is some debate as to the precise location).

A nice set of images David, I always find it a shame that so mant castles were slighted during the English Civi War or left to deteriate.

Very nice set David - just the sort of history I love to see, because we miss it over here. Did visit Ludlow Castle many years ago, but very nice to see it this way again.

The dramatic skies in 1 & 2 are excellent, but the shot of the spiral staircase is the winner for me. Makes me think of all the feet that have trodden those steps over the centuries.

Thanks for that comment. I was concerned that I may have been a bit heavy handed with the processing as for as the skies were concerned so I am pleased you like them. I took four shots of spiral staircases but the other three were sadly marred by litter.

David - If you're only just getting to grips with editing in PS or PSE, two very useful editing tools are Dodge & Burn (old darkroom techniques brought into the digital age) and Content Aware Fill, which may well help with getting rid of the litter in your other images. I find the best way to learn is to find a specific YouTube tutorial and then have a go once I've watched a couple of times.

Thanks Korky, I am developing some understanding but I haven't used the Dodge & Burn tools so |I will take it on board. What I have been using is here  https://www.photoshopessentials.com/ which I find really helpful.
