A few more from Didcot.

Recommended Posts

A couple more of "Lady of Legend" and one of King Edward II from last month at Didcot Railway Centre, these are from the colour film in a Lord 5D.

The Lady on the turntable

this shows how well-engineered railway technology had to be so that one or two men could turn a 100+ ton locomotive.

Nice set of steam engines, I like the turntable one as it's something I haven't seen on either of the local heritage railways...

I'm not sure whether the turntable is one that was originally there or whether it was rescued from elsewhere and moved to Didcot.

Nice set of images, James.

I've seen a turntable at Wansford station on the Nene Valley Railway near Peterborough.  I guess that's my "local" heritage railway - only around 40 miles away.
