I discovered a wonderful combination this morning....I added an extension ring to one of my favourite Vintage lenses....I am totally bowled over by the sheer beauty of the colours, the soft, dreamy look and in camera composition.

Just a tad of processing to adjust the original RAW files..

An exercise to be repeated very soon methinks!

Lens...a Vintage 1.4-50 mm MINOLTA ROKKOR -PG

Nice & colourful - personally I'd have preferred a bit more depth of field, but if that's the effect you wanted then fair enough!
Is the extension ring to increase the focal length or to allow closer focussing?

Extension rings usually allow a lot closer focusing, the downside is you lose depth of field

A great set, I particularly like the two bluebells, pity that the bee moved out of frame.

Minolta glass has a very good reputation.

Thank you all.....

Your feedback is very welcome and helpful.....

The combination of that lens and the extension tube, was simply to discover how things would look...//wide ope, and the DOF is extremely shallow, but the soft areas are exquisite.

Close the aperture, and DOF almost normalises.....but still leaves that very beautiful softness....the colours can be saturated, but ai prefer them as taken.
