Is this a steam train which I see before me?

Is this a steam train which I see before me,
The engine toward my hand? Come, let me clutch thee.
I have thee not, and yet I see thee still.
Art thou not, fatal vision, sensible
To feeling as to sight? or art thou but
A engine of the mind, a false creation,
Proceeding from the heat-oppressed brain?

Adapted from Macbeth by Bill Shakespeare....

Interesting History too.

Thanks Polly, this was taken today at Ramsbottom station, my Mum was sat on one of the benches just behind the steam train whilst I took this picture...

The ELR also have a very similar loco numbered 80097, which was at Barry scrapyard for 19 years and then took another 33 years to restore.

I did a post about it here:

Thanks Korky, I must admit I didn't see him when I was taking the photograph, it was only when I got home and was looking through the days images that I spotted him and for some odd reason the Macbeth quote 'Is this a dagger which I see before me' came to mind.

Now if you're going to quote from Macbeth, It should have been the Flying Scotsman.    Love the reflections down the side of the engine.  Photographs in mono don't always bring out how well these machines are turned out.

It's the reflection from the white paint on the platform edge. The engine itself is black, I think they get washed and repainted on a regular basis so they always look their best.
