At the weir in Whalley. They are a strange bird, in flight they gangly and awkward, but fishing they almost look like statues and seem to be able to be motionless for ages. They are fairly common, so almost on any bit of water, you'll see them - usually by themselves...

Well caught, with the plumes blowing in the wind.

They're even more awkward-looking at the nest, as they really aren't built for perching in trees!

Thanks James, yes it was very windy that day. I've seen them trees before and they do look out of place and awkward.
