This Gent  looks like he had decided  to get his breath before  tackling those stairs ..This was Liverpool's Museum of Slavery   and like many  buildings in  the city  has a very industrial  feel  to it  inside ... The Old and the New  sit surprisingly  comfortably together  in the city.

I just love that.  Those subdued colours are perfect for the subject.  If that's down to processing, I would love to know how it was done.  ( It would make a super print.)

BTW, it is me - I was dreaming of when I was young and used to listen to Jimi Hendrix and smoke Lebanese Red. Now I look forward to Eastenders and, just lately, I've taken a liking to elasticated trousers - the ones with the roomy gusset and the quick release fly buttons.

No HDR involved Gareth ...in fact I did very little to this  image ..no cropping  a twiddle with  Neutral density  filter in Nik colour EFEX PRO 4 . In fact here is the original SOOC, resized for here .. Thanks for the  kind comment John ... as you can see .... I didn't have to do much ....   This was  taken  with the X-T2 with the 10-24mm  lens.. Actually... I'm so used to fiddling  I  do it almost out of habit ....maybe I should have just left this one alone ...

Interesting that I noticed the line of "painted people" in the top left on the SOOC version, but missed them first time round.

Absolutely not.  It's the ND applied to the highlights at the top of the stairs that has made the difference (.........for me).

It's interesting that people don't think to use ND filters in night photography or low light, but it often has great effect ... I like this one
