I  was taken by the colours initially,  then the reflections, then  chap who looked  immersed in thought. I have processed for a colour version  but  decided to try a mono one too .. Hmmmm    not sure  about that  now ...

Nice colours Polly but I do think they distract a bit from the subject, particularly the  blue metal band and the red pillars which because they recede into the distance, tend to take my eye away from the man.  The mono does none of that and for me at least, is a much better image - which I like.

Thanks you two ... interesting  opposing points of view ...  it originally was the reflected colours and the strong lines under the windows that attracted me ... plus the diagonals .. I didn’t see the man as the only subject really .. more another  version of the reflection in the glass .as he appeared to be deep in thought ,.  I  must admit .. I  like to take the eye back and forth to explore other aspects of a scene  in a controlled way and to that end I made a slight spotlight around the gent with the drink so as to bring the eye back to him each time if the rest of the colours  were distracting ... in the mono version it seems the rest of the image is superfluous and I might have been better cropping it just to that  corner .Ah well ... now you know what my logic was ... I do really enjoy these discussions though gang as it just proves how diverse our reasons are for seeing  an image  we find interesting ...   I can see both points of view .?

Thanks Rye ...we passed in the post !

Its never easy for me to decide  if a version  is better  in Mono or colour Korks ... I suppose the truth is  they are different and each canbring out differing aspects of an image ... here s another one where the reflection of Albert Dock is the main reason for taking it ...
