Ryewolf 6,026 Report post Posted February 8 I must admit I have mixed feelings over this type of graffiti, some street art is just that art, this is just a bunch of names, sometimes it can be done well though Share this post Link to post
Korky 4,988 Report post Posted February 9 As much as I like to see art on the streets, this is just stupid, ugly, mindless vandalism. Made to look so much worse by the litter. I'd love to hear how the people who do this would justify it. Rant over. I do like the composition of the image - you've placed the figures perfectly in the frame. Would mono make it work better? Dunno! Korky 1 Share this post Link to post
FUJI 6,535 Report post Posted February 9 (edited) Just a mess..... Period !.... or..... Full-Stop ! As we Brits prefer. 🤓 Hate grafitti .... if they really want to paint on a surface....they should own it first... FUJI Edited February 9 by FUJI Share this post Link to post
Hatter 480 Report post Posted February 9 I like the composition of the image with the leading lines pointing to the people at the far end but the litter & wet patches on the ground spoil it. The graffiti itself is colourful but not great. 1 Share this post Link to post

Sometimes it can be done well. Full marks for including the figures. They seem to be appropriate to the scene. Edited February 9 by johntwo Share this post Link to post
THELONGMAN 1,025 Report post Posted February 10 For me it sums up the real world we live in, and while I much prefer some of the amazing wall art that can be seen on the buildings in most cities I can see there is a justifiable reason for photographers to recorded this type of "art", also the sad depths our streets have been lowered to by street litter and rubbish? -- So yes I do like your photo Mark, Geoff 1 Share this post Link to post
NannyFerret 2,692 Report post Posted February 10 I like graffiti when it's well done. I'm not keen on this at all. A good capture though. Share this post Link to post
Kobione 3,586 Report post Posted Tuesday at 05:11 Agree that the picture is well composed, but I don't like seeing graffiti of this type either - proper street art yes, and there usually isn't so much rubbish as you see here near the 'proper stuff'. Share this post Link to post

Denis 1,949 Report post Posted Tuesday at 21:16 I am in a quandry over this subject, yes, I do photograph street and wall art, some good and some bad. I do detest the mindless 'tags' that some oiks paint at random. I think that especially in London and other cities they mark gang territory, and that probably means their involvement in drug culture. So I do not like that. On the other hand there are some stunning pieces that really are very creative and thought provoking, like any work by 'Banksy' Then there are those wonderful huge wall paintings that Ryewolf posted not long back, they are terrific. I posted an image not long back of street art under a roadbridge in town and it isn't bad to look at, a lot better than a blank concrete wall at the end of the day. But graffiti has been around for a lot longer than we think, People have expressed themselves over the whole of mankinds existance with crude paintings on walls, but again I can see fuji's point about vandalism. That said , I like your photo although the subject art could have been better 1 Share this post Link to post
