Just out of interest did you try it with diffferent colour background to the  white Gareth ... ie the dark tree colour ...   ?

I didn't, but I've saved the file with layers so I can easily make the background any colour I like.

Interesting to play with isn't it .. I think I  prefer your  version with the white bg  though . I think .

Out of interest  Did you use  the Analog Pro 2 Efex filter with the  multilens tool in the Nik  collection to get your tryptych .?..

By the way ... you could try a blue bg matching the  sky's colour and inverting the gradient  that  is present in the photo... The permutations are endless aren't they ...I seem to spend hours with loads of versions of an image and can never make up my mind which one I prefer ...lol

No - it was all done in Photoshop with layers and clipping masks.

Each of the layers with a tree picture has a clipping mask added so that only the part over the black shape on the layer underneath shows.

Do you have the NIK Collection ?

I've not got it installed now, but I've still got the download of the free Google version.
Not sure whether it works on Mojave though.
I only ever used Silver Efex - and I replaced that with Tonality a year or so ago.
