Well spotted and I love the monochrome treatment :)
I had that lens when I had my Nikon D300 and it's great.  Sadly, it doesn't work on my full frame D750, so it's heading for eBay. :(  I don't think they do the equivalent in full frame, else I'd buy it.

I must admit to the same, but from doing the One A Day Every Day Challenge we did in 2016 and 2017, I've found that there's no such thing as a bad day for taking photographs, just different qualities of light.

When I took this it was 5pm and I was struggling to even see the settings on my camera, it was completely hand held at f2.8 and iso 800, to be honest I find clear blue skies even worse. So get out there in the rain/rubbish light - you can get Storm Jackets for cameras and lens.
