Jazz Night

This is Abi Flynn a singer songwriter and great vocalist I have had the pleasure to meet.  Many years ago with my old Canons I started to take photos of her and was very happy to meet her again now I use the Fuji X series.  This was taken with the X-T3 + XF 50mm f2 in a pub here in town called the Paris House that is just like a French Inn.  Since switching to Fuji I have started to get in to a style that I really do like, ie dark b&w as for me I do like jazz this way.  It was edited in C1 Pro 12 and finished in Affinity Photo.

Fuji has it absolutely right - you have caught the moment.  However, (oh dear) for me, this is a little flat and slightly underexposed.  The background is also a bit distracting with the double bass protruding from her head.  I know these sort of things are the joys of street and event photography  but the moment you have captured is worth some work to give it more prominence.  Something like (but remember this is just my view):

Thank you John, I still have the Raw files in C1 so I will go back and have another go.
