Another week, you know the drill.

We drove through the very run-down Cypriot village of Kannaviou this afternoon - the place looked like it may have done rather nicely from the tourist trade at one time, but the few places that were managing to stay open looked more than a bit dismal and had no customers, just grubby-looking proprietors twiddling their thumbs and hoping for a bit of trade.

On the positive side ...Looks like you might find  something for the weekly challenge though ... that said ... I really like the  image ... ... even the  old Mitsubishi Shogun adds to the feeling  " best days are behind us "  vibe ... Always a bit sad when progress leaves   a whole community capsizing in it's wake .

Is it finished now Beepy ...all the  building work for the Kitchen and diner ...?

Not really. The kitchen is almost finished (no flooring yet) but Monday the scaffolding turns up and work starts on converting the loft into a bedroom and bathroom...whilst building a new staircase and demolishing a box room. Then we’re taking the front of the house of and extending it out a few feet - then the windows need replacing - then the flooring can go down - then the new drive along with a paved area out back. Oh and the chimney breast is being pulled apart for a wood burner somewhere in all that.

Ah..... so you're maybe planning for a very late Christmas then ... about Easter time eh?

Project managing builders   is my idea of a nightmare   ... so  best of luck...

Caught a Painted Lady on Saturday. We have had so much strong breezes that we have hardly seen any butterflies settled anywhere:

Got my days mixed up, should have said Thursday not Saturday!!

We get Painted Lady Butterflies in the UK, the fly over from North Africa.

We have only seen a few so far Rye, there are a few Painted Lady species, and this is the Australian Painted Lady, which probably are based on Australian land, but do get blown Eastwards to New Zealand  and surrounding islands too apparently.

A couple of steam trains at night at Ramsbottom Station this evening.... it's been a pretty dismal week weather wise....

I’m in Surfers Paradise for a work conference. I wasn’t looking forward to it because it was a bit like Korky’s Cypriot village. Seedy and past it’s prime. But it had a makeover for the Commonwealth Games and there’s less rubbish, the cracks in the pavements have been fixed and it now has trams. I took my new IPhone 7 for a walk and found some lovely spots between the high rise hotels.

Indeed.  I haven't been out with my camera at all this week so it's very nearly a "fail" - but I did try to take this spider that's built a web on our window.
It's probably the worst "52 Project" photo ever, but it's better than a fail, I guess..
