Looks like one of our male Mallard ducks with those curly tail feathers. There's a lake near me that has a type of diving duck that goes fully underwater, called a Tufted Duck, I always seem to manage to photograph them just as they dive....

Thanks, Rye. Yes, they must have been bred from Mallards as they look almost identical. These Khaki Campbells normally dive like this after a feed of grain. Maybe going down for the grit. But I have seen them completely submerge when fighting with the wild ducks that come in to pinch their grain.

Not a great image but you can see the similarity.
