Saw something moving on a rail as I looked out of the lounge window. Went to look and it was the largest Stick Insect I think I have ever seen - about 6inches in body length. Not in the most convenient spot, and just hanging on with his back legs,  but at least I recorded his presence:

He did move around and I did get two bit better pictures, both giving me 'the look': P1030280a.thumb.jpg.5d8bd9f902e1b2600d6c74a86799ea06.jpg

Two minutes later, gone!

Thank you for the comments

Rye this certainly was a big one!

Bill these are very similar to a Mantis, which we do also get to see, these are herbivores and, if smaller, could be prey for  a Mantis to stalk, but I think one was too big.

Fuji I did a basic adjust on the original, and the two of his face were reasonable size crops, so didn't want to overdo much else, and the colour of the end result was just as he was, very well blended in to the background bit of wood.
